Tires/Brakes
Stock tires: Bridgestone Regno GR001; 225/60R16. Tire pressure 36psi (source). Lug nut torque 103Nm (from manual)
Brake pads: Lexus LS400 UCF21
Wheel torque specs: 103nm
Engine/Transmission
Fuel: Manual recommends 95 RON (91 RON in North America)
Fuel filter: Lexus LS400 23300-50060 (source)
Oil: Shell Helix full synthetic. 5W20 or 5W30 for temperature below -20C; 10W30 for climates over -20C (takes 7.3 litres/7.7qt; 8.4 litres with filter change)
Oil filter: NAPA 1627 (source) or Toyota 15601-68010 (source)
Oil control valve: Toyota 15330-32011; need two
Knock sensor: Toyota 89615-40020; need four
Engine air filter: Toyota 17801-35020-83; WIX 46162, need two (source)

Coils (1997-2010): Toyota 90919-02213; NGK 48838 (U4029)(source)

Cabin air filter (behind glove box): Ecogard XC10034C or any other filter for 97-2000 Lexus LS400 (source1, source2)

Battery: Same as Interstate Batteries Group size 27, CCA 810. Available at Costco (source)
Key: For 97-99 key has no chip; 2000+ has immobiliser. Key is the same as UCF2x LS400 (source)

This is very helpful. I'm researching the gen2 Centurys now, but probably won't be purchasing for at least another year. I was curious about parts availability in the US, and this is a great resource.

My 1997 uses spark plug wires. "direct ignition system (DIS) with waste spark"
2010 and later uses coil on plug.

Knock Sensors x4 !
In the heart of the engine valley. All four of my sensors were brittle and the electrical connectors turned to dust once I tried to disconnect. They did their duty after 25 years of heat-cycles. I'll post a separate topic showing their location with more detail.

Rear seat cabin filter. Of course the back seat passengers get extra pure air. This air filter is extra thick and the surface area is much greater than the front cabin filter. The part shares amongst a few other Toyota models.
