Throttle not working, no DTC set and idle go high around 1600rpm
This happen after unplug battery for weeks. Before that it was running normally.
After putting new battery the engine start just fine but throttle not response.
Does it need throttle learning procedure?
Anyone familiar with this situation?

Re: Throttle not working after changing the battery
A friend of mine had a very similar problem - he fixed it with the TPS relearn procedure: https://www.toyotanation.com/threads/th ... n.1297865/
Re: Throttle not working after changing the battery
Thanks, I tried those 10steps method today.
(adding warm up the engine to the working temp about 80degreeC then shut down then follow those 10step)
Step 1: Turn the key to the ON position but do not start.
Step 2: Press the accelerator pedal ALL THE WAY to the floor and hold it for 40 seconds.
Step 3: Release the accelerator pedal ALL THE WAY and count for 35 seconds.
Step 4: Press the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor and hold for 30 seconds.
Step 5: Release the accelerator pedal and count for 25 seconds.
Step 6: Press the Accelerator pedal to the floor and hold for 20 seconds.
Step 7: Release the accelerator pedal and count for 15 seconds.
Step 8: Press the accelerator pedal to the floor and count for 10 seconds and then release the pedal for 10 seconds. Do this 2 times
Step 9: Quickly press the accelerator pedal to the floor and then release three times.
Step 10: Start the engine.
result = no luck
it still idle high and throttle not responses
may be I need to clean the Throttle body like he said
or I might be wrong, may be there is no need to warm up before those steps
i tried some other instruction also, like the classic method. shift to D then park brake for 5-10min with engine running
but again, no luck
may be the Japanese engineer want to keep it secret

Re: Throttle not working after changing the battery
Oh dear sorry that didn't work... my friend sent me some next ideas:
Next step, try to clean the throttle bodies and fully discharge the system. Disconnect both terminals and after 30mins short the two terminals. (Don’t get battery involved). Overnight will reset your ecu. Do the same thing again, idle 5 min without any unnecessary appliance. 5 more with AC blowing cold. and drive for 30 mins.
If this doesn't work I might get him to make an account.

Re: Throttle not working after changing the battery
I support reseting the ECU. I had mine go into LIMP mode once after refueling. I made it home then disconnected battery overnight. After that everything worked fine.

Re: Throttle not working after changing the battery
i been try disconnecting battery and drive 30min for days.
cleaning throttle and also the 10steps pedal instruction. it still the same
should i re-adjusting the VTA signal of the throttle body ? or it will get worst ?
my left and right bank VTA is 0.7 volt (with ig on engine not running)
anyway, i try using the Techstream 10.10.018 today
the left and right bank ecu data is working well, and again no DTC set
but the ABS module was not responding
i dont think that the ABS module is faulty cause with the diagnosis mode on combination meter (Tc to TE) the "ABS OK"
/but i might be wrong

Re: Throttle not working after changing the battery
End up wiggle some of the wires, connectors, relay, battery, ecu and pray...
finally it work again
finally it work again
